Is it possible to do a search for everytime a noun comes before a verb in the Hebrew text? I have tried a few things with the morphological searches, but they haven't really worked.

Hi Jill,

What you need to do is a phrase search on the command line, or you can use the Graphica Search engine.

Beging with the WTM (Hebrew morphology database). On the command line enter the following (without the underlines):

'*@v* *4 *@n*

This search will find all nouns predeeding a verbg, with only allowing 4 intervening words in between the noun and verb.

You can do the same search in the Graphical Search Engine. Create two text boxes, one containing the verb, and the other the noun. Add a word order box from the noun to the verb, and set allowable number of intervening words in the word box. The help file shows examples of using these boxes. There are also command line examples to help with creating command line searches. (I assume that you are using BW7, though this information is in BW6, as well.)

Hope this helps.
