How to create dictionaries & Lexicons?

Hello,

has anyone any idea of how to create own dictionaries/lexicons in BW 6.0 [or 7.0 > might be another reason to upgrade]?

Or is it possible to edit existing dictionaries/lexicons? [What about the Copyright? -> OnlY for private use; I just want to add german Words/Eqivalents to Hebrew/Greek dictionaries].

I think that it is impossible, at the moment, to update/change Bibleworks dictionaries/lexicons (integrated in the software).

It is possible to create own Dictionary with Bibleworks tool Build Module Index, it is an hard works for a dictionary.

I am working on Latin - Vulgate - Dictionary.

I link my Dictionary project in excel.

My works in excel is an old works, but I think that you can use Bibleworks 7 tool "Edit external link or other programs" to use the excel in Bibleworks, but I don't Know if it works how you wait for. It is an hard works to edit the link "manager" - not for open excel - but to open excel and calls the specific words that you search.

I can try to help you to link the external programs (excel). But it is well if you post a thread in the specific Bibleworks forum.
If this works, for Hebrew I can change the macro in excel.

For the second question in "BW7 Help" there is a good help to explain very well this tool.
If you Know Italian I give you an hard help for my previous works and the tools to use for a fast works to rename the names of the files and for rename title into html files. For a dictionary in CHM you must work with 6.000 different files.
You must hiperlinked every word and so on it is a very hard works with CHM. But it is possible (macro and hard works).

I`m afraid I`m still running BW 6.0 therefore I can`t create external links with my BW. [I know I should upgrade, but tell a student he has to afford another 150 €... :rolleyes: ]

Is it possible to create chm-Files for BW 6.0?

I have already edited for you an html dictionary based on Strongs number from 1 to 5000 and others (the same entries put into my excel dictionary) Now is Greek-English.

The work is this: After you send me a Strongs German Dictionary in "Electronics" format I try to:

change the English translation with German translation. Strong Number by Strong number. I don't know German language therfore can be some mistakes.;
after you must edit the html file for correct the mistakes with an html free editor (aracnophilia or others) downloaded fron internet;
After I indexed all files and makes a search html file to works with Bibleworks.
After I in every files put into a Javascript search for bypass Bibleworks 7 Link Manager;
After you in Bibleworks copy a Greek words on Clipboard and put the words in search files that search the words entry. Therefor you find the greek words in dictionary and the german translation.
A prayer if all is good.Attention in software "accordance" there is an Greek-German dictionary of the New Testament by Rudolf Kassuhlke. Do you have this?

I dont`t have accordance, but I know, the Kassulke is also available for BW7, but I`m still interested in creating an own dictionary.

I have no Strongs Numbers lexicon till now, I`ll try to build one, but that`ll need some time (much time, because i have to do a couple of other things :( ). Can i contact you via the memberslist when I`m done?
