View Full Version : Why Doesn't BibleWorks 7 Have A Printed Manual?

We decided not to include a printed manual with BibleWorks 7 because maintaining two different current and accurate help systems (online and paper) was proving too costly for our customers. We decided we could more cost-effectively serve BibleWorks customers by putting all our documentation resources into one outstanding help system.

With the online system one can actually find information, and always-current information, much more quickly and intuitively than when using a paper resource. One little tip illustrates this difference. Placing the mouse pointer over any item on the BibleWorks screen (a button, box, list, etc.) and hitting the F1 key on the keyboard will cause BibleWorks automatically to open to the place in the online manual that discusses that item.

The online help system also contains numerous Study Guides containing over 4 hours of video instructions on various topics. When such help is not sufficient, BibleWorks also offers free Customer Support (http://www.bibleworks.com/support.html).

We recognize that having a printed manual in addition to these good helps would be nice. But, like any capability, it would come with a cost, and that (not insignificant) cost would be shared by all BibleWorks customers. So far our feedback indicates almost all customers would prefer a lower cost to having a manual. The BibleWorks forums (http://www.bibleworks.com/forums) provide a way to discuss this issue further.

P.S. We had an offer from a BibleWorks user to turn the Online Help into a printed manual he could sell to those who wanted one. When we told him how few inquiries we get for a printed manual, he quickly agreed the project wasn't worth his time.
