I have a feature request for inserting verses into the editor. In the editor toolbar where you type the scripture, there are several ways you can type in the scripture reference and BW will recognize it and insert the correct verse. For instance you can type in

Psalm 119:3
ps 119 3
psal 119:3
psa 119:3

and always get the right verse. However, only the last example will BW recognize and expand to "Psalms 119:3." The rest of them are inserted "as is" as the reference above the inserted scripture. I would like for BW to expand the other examples of references just as it does the last example.

Thanks!

I do believe BibleWorks can do what you want it to. See the Help chapter 30 Setup Options and look up Book Names. You can add aliases to the bookname file ( a simple text document you can edit with Notepad or other) which will then should be recognized for you.

Just curious, but why would someone want the verse to read "Psalms 119:3"? There is only one Psalm 119. My understanding is that we would have "Psalm 119:3" or "Psalm 119" but "Psalms 118-119." Am I incorrect?

Two answers:
1) The collection is called "Psalms" so individual Psalms might as preference be referenced plural rather than singular, though I have no preference either way.
2) Bad example for those whose preference is in the singular.
