I was wondering if we'll be able to have several lexica in one results window (e.g. HALOT and BDB) or if we'll be able to have two small results windows running tandem beside eachother underneath the text.

The default BW 6.0 configuration is to have the Auto-Info window under the Results Window. In this you can display all the Greek Lexicons at one time, but only one Hebrew lexicon at a time.

However, in 6.0 you have the Lexical & Grammatical Help window which allows you to see the entries in all lexicons for the word you are on and all lexicon entries which reference the verse you are on.

Now in 7.0...

The Results Window is called the Browse Window.

The Auto-Info Window is called the Word Analysis Window

The default location for the Word Analysis Window is now to the right of the Browse Window.

You can still display all Greek lexicons at the same time. You can still only show one Hebrew Lexicon at a time.

However, 6.0's Lexical and Grammatical Help is now called Resource Summary and it is easily accessable via a tab in the right window pane.

In addition you can have a floating Analysis Window...

The window configurations are quite flexible...see attached pic for just one example.

After saying all of that, let me say, you cannot have more than one Word Analysis Windows open each displaying a different lexicon.

Thanks for your helpful and prompt response. The new interface should make things a bit easier, though I would have still liked to have had two lexica in the auto-info window. I often make careless errors by forgetting that a particular form (HALOT) is simply a common root (BDB). Is there any particular reason why this feature isn't available in BW7? (Perhaps I'm just a little disappointed that so much of the new material is so heavily slanted towards NT/Greek material. Nevertheless, the vast majority of graduates from the seminary I attended rarely use their Hebrew and that most of their sermons come from the NT--which ultimately directs the market.)

I know this has been talked about before. I can't seem to find what the explanation was why the Greek can do all lexica but the Hebrew does not (maybe none was ever given). However, I do know, it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease, so email the BW people to see if this is something they can make work....

Mike B talks about this here: http://www.bibleworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=410&highlight=lexicons

"Hi Bennett,

This has been on our very long list of things to do for a long time. We haven't gotten to it primarily because it is more difficult than the Greek due to the fact that Hebrew lemmas are not consistent between lexicons. But we hope to make the change eventually. Note that you can get at this info indirectly via the Lexical and Grammatical Help window in 6.0.

God bless,
Mike"
