Does anyone out there know if it would be possible to construct a search to find the longer (-est) verses in the Bible or a particular corpus? Or same kind of question in sections bounded by samek or pe in Hebrew.

Hi, Dale,
1. Do a .* search in desired version with ASE
2. Save verse list to file
3. Open verse list file in a text editor.
4. Sort the file based on the number of hits found in each verse.
5. # of hits = number of words or lemmata in the verse.
You should be able to apply limits and find the longer (-est) verse(s) in the desired range.

Thanks Phil,
Looks very clear.

Does anybody know how I can find the shortest or longest verse in a range of books or verses
- according to the number of characters
- according to the number of words?
I'm using BW7. The answer of Philip Brown here doesn't work because the file of GSE (formerly ASE) hasn't got a base number.
Thanks
Spremi
