55 The Read Text Module
The Read Text Module enables you to listen to Bible text or to read Bible text to an audio file. You can also enter other types of text into the text display box for reading. The Read Text module only works properly with English versions at this time. The Read Text module may not work on Windows XP systems. It is recommended only for use on Windows Vista or higher.
The Read Text Window contains a
collection of controls at the top portion of the window, and a text display box
on the lower portion of the window.
The text in the text display box can be edited. You can also use the Windows
ctrl + v shortcut to paste other text (such as an email message, notes from the
BibleWorks editor, or other text) into the text display box for reading. The
button controls the reading of the text display box.
The Read Text Module contains the following controls, text input boxes, and text display boxes.
Use this button to select the Bible
version you want the Read Text module to read.
Use this button to select the voice to
use to read the text. BibleWorks does not supply voice files. The voice files
are installed with Windows or from other sources.
Check this box if you wish to read the
Bible version directly to a WAV audio file. When this option is checked, the
audio file is not sent to the speakers.

verse or chapter you want to read. To read an entire book, enter only the book
name. To read a chapter, enter the book name followed by the chapter number. To
read a single verse, enter the book name, chapter, and verse number. You can use
the BibleWorks book name abbreviations when entering the book name.
Use this button to read the verses
entered in the text input box. This is the button you will usually want to use
to read the Bible text.
When this button is used, the text in
the lower text display box is read. You can edit the text in the text display
box, and use the Windows Ctrl + v shortcut to paste text into the text display
box. The text entered into this display box does not have to be Bible version
text. It can be any text, though there is no capability for reading properly
foreign language words.

of the text.

of the text.
